Uh in the first place, don't even need to talk about being very smart.
If you even have a degree from a big 3 local U (NUS, SMU or NTU) and still end up working in audit, that's really on you for wasting your degree.
Audit is not a role for a "high flyer", seriously. The private uni and malaysian degree holders that they accept by the truckloads, are perfectly capable of doing this job.
You ever hear of people go Oxbridge or Ivy League then come back work in audit? Very very rare, because most bright ambitious grads like them know that their degrees would be totally wasted and overqualified for B4 audit.
Even in the US, how many grads who studied in Ivies, Stanford, MIT, etc. become CPAs? All straightaway target IB, PE and consulting. It's only those low tier state college grads that choose the CPA path. |
