So can I hear from the big 4 people, any announcements to go back to office come 1st Jan in line with government's stance?
I think there will be pressure on SM , M and partner level to go back to " set an example" because we all know meetings are more productive and efficient F2F |

The advisory or consulting arms in Singapore Big4 are still good roles to go to. But contribution wise, they are not that great for Singapore / SE Asia business. |

This is the equivalent of a JC student going to a Poly lecture theatre just to make nasty comments. |

To me, working in audit is like an escape from life. Being able to devote myself to work helps distracts me from other unhappy stuff.

only people with miserable life join audit. Working in big 4 audit is like attending funeral. Colleagues always look miserable and some even sacrifice their lunch break to work as if your partner will give you more money. |

But that may also be because how terrible things are outside for me… you won’t understand one. But I’m sure most people have their share of family, friendship and relationship problems. |

Lets compare big 4 SM to a senior manager at civil service
big 4 SM total salary : 12 K per month + 2 M PB = 168 K Leave days - 18 per year senior manager in civil service 10 K per month bonuses : AWS ( 1 month) + PB ( 2 month ) + civil servant bonuses ( 2 months ) Total salary = 170 k ( To note, civil servants also get additional Medisave contribution per month depending on scheme ) Leave days : 22-26 So may I ask who wins |
Might I also add that big 4 SM couldnt encash leave, even though on leave-> no one respects this boundary. work hrs is 8-10 pm
vs civil servant Senior manager : when on leave, standard email reply stating I'm on leave, pls contact my covering xyz. -> There is clear respect of boundaries, can carry forward leaves and encash leave last year . Also , no work on PH or weekends. Work hrs is 8-5 |

How many years to reach SM in civil service?
Do they accept second lower or third class honors degrees? Can you just delegate out all your groundwork and purely be a project manager? |

if 12k is the lower end of SM pay what is the higher end
