u really need someone to explain the irony to u huh |
Y1: Shopee, 75k base
Y3: promoted, 90k base 50k stocks, vested 3 years. Good easy life. Hybrid, Mon - Wed WFH, Thurs - Fri office. Lol @ anyone who's not in tech, easiest field to get in, even non-cs students are already coming to shopee after they do graduate programs at DBS and other companies. Even without CS degree, as long as u have 1-2 yoe in tech, you can get into the market easily and make bank. |

When you guys say "tech", do you mean a technical technology role such as software coder/designer?
Or do you mean any role in a tech company including e.g. marketing, HR, Legal, Finance etc.? |

clearly tech role as well. Not even product manager at shopee makes 60k base as fresh grad / 0 yoe so it's obvious this person is talking about tech role. ( SWE / SDE / SRE etc ) Quote:

product management is also tech la wtf...... |
There is a difference between working in the tech industry and working in a tech role.
However, a HR personnel for example, may enjoy tech industry salary and benefits vs a HR working in another industry. This is despite the role being a non-tech one. In that sense, it would matter to someone seeking a HR role whether the company hiring is in the tech industry or not. That HR person is not claiming to be in a tech role by virtue of him/her being hired by a tech company, which some here have wrongly assumed from the original question. |
