So may I ask what is the process for the background check? DBS will just use the approval form i signed and ownself liaise with the background check company? Or the background check company will reach out to me for more info?

Technically yeah but I mean it doesn't really matter, they don't rescind offers just because you said something slightly different in your resume lol.

Unless you lied about having a Computer Science Degree when you actually have a English Literature Degree or something crazy like that, they really don't give a f. I am pretty sure all they will do is pass your approval to the vendor, they will then OTOT call your company, could be next day, few days or even after DBS offers you then they check.

Because technically your offer is still "tentative" even after you join since there's a "probation" period where you can be let go for any reason without any compensation.

Not surprised if they did. DBS treats employees like disposable tissue. The CEO instead of taking responsibilities blames the engineers for issues 😂

When in reality the issues were found out but ignored because dont fix what isnt broken. Speaking as an engineer working in dbs for 5 years looking to leave

I didnt lie about my degree or my job title. But I have extended the length of 2 of my jobs by 3-4 months.

In my resume, i put
Company A: Sept 2020 to Oct 2021
Company B: Oct 2021 to Oct 2023

But in actual fact, it is
Company A: Jan 2021 to Feb 2022
Company B: Feb 2022 to Oct 2023

How ****ed am I? I am sure I don’t have criminal or drug offenses in the past. Credit rating also pass

Okay what the f...

That's not "slightly" different anymore lol that's a major violation of every company's HR policy. Any reason why you lied about your work duration?

It's definitely gonna come up... the first thing they do is check when did you join and what position did you hold, at least for Company B and your current company.

Btw are you applying for SEED or some other perm role? IF it's for SEED I doubt that they give a ****. YOE has no impact on SEEDer's starting pay, everyone starts the same pay.

If it's for a perm role then it does matter, I know for a fact DBS associate requires at least 1 YOE except for rare cases, 2-3 YOE for senior associate, and so on.

In fact that's how it is at GS and JP as well. Pretty sure all major banks follow the same promotion / rank requirement.

Yea i know i fcked up. The job title and current role checks out.

I not applying for SEED, is for some other perm role. The job description requires 3 YOE and actually I do have 3 YOE, just not 3.5 YOE based on my resume

Wa i think you say until like this, maybe I should just tell HR i decide not to proceed with the offer le ba. In case background check come back even more jialat.

At least i back out now, save them the trouble and save me the embarrassment 1-2 weeks later

Yeah sorry man, it's entirely up to you though I think there's a small chance you can still talk to HR and negotiate.

Tell them you forgot and you "estimated" your work durations or something lol I mean I don't know how well would that excuse work but if you're going to reject the offer anyway you might as well just try.

Wa bro, it is bad but honestly if you only applying for a role with 2-3 years experience, they MIGHT (emphasis on might) not conduct background check on you, especially since you said you passed their pre-employment check.

If I am in your situation, I will just act blur and pray they won’t find out, but if they find out, you better pray they are so in need of people that they are willing to overlook this **** up.
