Anyone knows if a promotion is likely next year?
2nd upper local uni, no NS

Typically 2-4 years will promote from MX12 , from this trend, it is possible to get promoted next year provided your boss have pipeline for you (For Performance review) and the assignments/task that you are handling is of a certain size and visibility.

You would roughly know if your boss like you, and the feedback from your colleagues to get some sense if you will promote.

I understand that AVC includes 13-month bonus. So 2017 total AVC includes 13mth + 0.5 months variable bonus https://www.psd.gov.sg/press-room/pr...d-payment-2017?

I understand that this is separate from performance bonus. So on average, a person in PS can expect around 3.5 months bonus taking into account 2017 AVC (1.5 mth AVC + ~ 2 mths PB)?

AVC and 13th mth are separate components. AVC includes mid-year and year-end payment, typically ard 1.0 mth, except 2017 when it was 1.5 total because of good economic growth.

PB actually range from 1.5-2.0 mth for average performance; depends on whether you are in ministry or SB, some particular scheme or actual job designation.

13th mth isn't actually a bonus, as explained in many other places.

when u resigned, then went interview for the ministry post, did they ask why u resigned?, I mean u resigned because u found a new job in the private sector?, did u put the new job at ur resume?

If your annual increment month is April and if you are promoted, you should be notified by your HOD some time towards the end February or latest second week of March. In the case of increment, you will be able to see the increment in your April pay notice.

CNY is typically the festive season for sharing such good news. Those high up have already gotten their "notification" in advance.

End Feb so early? Actually would our directors already know which officers got promoted by now?

I just joined the public sector back in sept. And from then till now, i am fairly certain i have done and amassed so many projects that warrants a gd grade. But will my grade still be the default c despite good performance?
