Yup graduates get hired as asst. manager. Did you apply for an asst manager opening? Perhaps that's all they have. you should be paid more than a fresh grad if your experience is relevant.

Agencies differ in their designation assignments. Some do not have deputy managers.

if you are really bothered, you should check with HR. having said that, designation (inflated most of the time) really counts for nothing.
