thanks to this forum, we know the truth.

I'm the OP of this. To clarify, I have no prior work experience as a data analyst and my degree is unrelated (Engineering). I basically self-learned database languages and data visualisation tools and managed to do well enough for the test to get an interview with hiring manager. So, i wouldn't consider this a 'tech' offer but would lean more towards 'non-tech' in tech company.

What do you mean by this is a non-tech offer. If this isn't a tech offer, then wad is?

lol but its quite well known among tech that data ppl may not be the strongest technically as compared to SWE la is a spectrum between tech and non tech la for eg BA is definitely non tech but some middle roles do exist like some data roles

simi lj are u talking about?

data analyst in shopee uses python to create graphs first and foremost... strongest technically in terms of what? their technical tests are the same standard as their software engineer tests. 3-4 leetcode mediums minimally.

dont know dont talk cock.

In terms of actually writing scalable and efficient production code. Shopee data analysts need to know how to use Python and the hadoop stack to visualize and gather insights. That much is true.

You talk so much about leetcode but if you're even in tech, you'd know that ad hoc data queries and dashboard making don't even require that kind of algor knowledge demanded in "leetcode medium". If you only mention Python and have to ask "strongest technically in terms of what", I got some bad news for you...

TL;DR Yes, the Shopee DA role is considered tech but they're not as technically inclined as SWEs or even DEs.

Bro just ignore the retards lol... it's dead obvious that it's a tech role I don't even know why did you take the bait.

It's the same old retarded argument since 2010 when people argued that Sales Engineers were not tech-role. I have no idea since when did we categorized titles according to their workload rather than following what the professional industry says.

Data Analyst is tech role according to Professional industry standards. Why the fk do you care so much about some anonymous retard say? you ok?

You argue with retards, you become one yourself.

Hurr Durrr guys I do DevOps, I don't code, I set up configs and AWS. Therefore DevOps is not a tech-role.

What a fking moron... holy ****... mind = blown.
