If compared, would CAAS or CAG be a better career option?
One is a stat board, the other is private/ "pseudo civil".

A friend told me lately CAG pays 6 months bonuses. Isit still valid?

Unregistered 22-03-2015 06:40 PM

past 5 years bonus payout 6-8mths for rank & file. managers usually get another 2-3 mths extra.

Unregistered 23-03-2015 03:19 PM

CAG always advertise their job vacancy over and over again, but it seems hard to even secure an interview with CAG. Anyone had good luck so far appying for a job there?.. or u guys always apply over and over again.

What is their definition of a "good degree"? Do they mean MIT, Oxford, Harvard kind?

CAG dun have director titles the closest is VP - basic ~350k, include things like bonus, allowance, performance sharing etc can hit 600k… Average performers will not get VP no matter how long, most stuck at manager or senior manager level.

Don’t spout garbage if you know nuts. VP is just junior managerial, monthly 10-12k include bonus at most 180-190k p.a. tops.

Heard their criteria for fresh grad is quite strict. If u are not local full time grads with good results, dun bother to apply as they screen like CS.

If you are very experience with colorful portfolios, then please keep trying. Cos they can pay very well!!! Add in the bonuses and incentives! wohooo...

Unregistered 30-03-2015 08:55 AM

Seems like a lot here are saying CAG pays top level money, anyone working there now can confirm?

Unregistered 30-03-2015 10:37 PM

I liaised as vendor with one of their dept b4 and I can tell u the majority gender in this particular dept is bitchy, whinny and disrespectful. It's my nightmare to work with them.

Unregistered 30-03-2015 11:35 PM

CAG pay is considered top notch and even higher than well known global MNCs out there. Of course if you are talking about traders or investment bankers who make 20 mths bonus then cannot compare.

Unregistered 31-03-2015 10:30 PM

CAG is a better paymaster than CAAS?

Unregistered 31-03-2015 10:48 PM

how good is the pay? can anyone give a range?
>4k for fresh grad?
>4.5k?
or more?

Way better. One is the highest paying GLC and the other just a small stat board

Career switch

Hi all, I am a local uni grad (2:2) with 3 years exp in a bank middle office. Last salary 4.8k

Would like a career switch to CAG.

1) Will my degree suffice? Or a masters be essential?

2) Will my wk exp be equivalent to a senior associate/assistant mgr/ mgr in CAG?

3) What is the expected salary for my profile?

Thanks!

3 years exp is either associate or senior associate depend on how relevant the exp is. Salary should be no problem as associate max is ~6k & snr associate max is ~8k

Unregistered 05-04-2015 11:28 PM

R there vacancies for diploma fresh grads?

Unregistered 29-04-2015 04:53 PM

haha how can an associate get you a 7k salary...when its the lowest in rank....ahaha

I think you should stay in the bank, u get better salary.

Their salary scheme is comparable to public sector after all a glc...those big big salary is more for higher grades......just that bonus maybe more..but oso depend on your performance..ppl can get 6 months doesnt mean u can get 6 months...

What were you doing for the remaining 12 years which you say is not relevant exp?

Because for someone with over 20 years exp manager is way too low level for you. Manager only around 8 -12k max and usually for mid careers they avoid getting people in the 40s to take up lower rank positions.

At your age you should be going for AVP/VP level positions. Give & take the lowest you should go for is Senior Manager.

The last 12 years I do mostly operations mgmt related work. The job I am applying is Facilities.

There is no opening for AVP or snr mgr positions. So I am happy to work low up again. My last drawn is about $90k PA only. If I apply CAG $7k basic pm isit ok? I read that CAG pays 4-6mths bonus which will easily exceed $90k PA I believe if i work hard.

Thank you.

Pay 7k should be ok, but dun get your hopes too high as they mostly prefer people who are a lot younger for manager level in order for them to progress. Most managers there are late 20s to early 30s, mid 40s at this level not that common and usually are those long serving old birds who move up from the blue collar ranks.

Is it true that CAG don't really recognise SIM/SIMGE degrees? Even for fresh grads.
Anyway, just curious, how is the application and interview process like?

Officially they don't specifically say it, but in real life yes they don't accept SIM for fresh grads.

seeing the kind of pay you people are randomly sprouting out makes me chuckle

give advice only when you know. don't make your own guess and give people incorrect advice
