Is there a place where one can rant about how “good” / “bad” STE is ?

I got approached by a headhunter for a role as e5
I don't know what's that. I'm wondering if this is worth my time to attend if they shortlist
me for interview. How's the Aws and bonus in st?
I'm now working as Principal Engineer in a US MNC 8.8k per month excluding travel allowance of 300, AWS bonus which usually adds up to 1.5 month. Dip holder with 15 years experience.

No way E5 can match that kind of pay. Need minimum M1. That recruiter is probably mass farming dip holders.

Principal Engineer in STE is M2, E5 is entry level engineer. The headhunter either does not know their requirement or has no idea what your specialisation is by offering you 4 levels below your current paygrade.

I got 12 years experience dip holder, I was a staff engineer at a MNC drawing close to 7.7k excluding bonus and Aws when I Was invited for an interview but was told my education level is at most e5. Didn't know what was that but the HR was quite taken aback by my current pay that day. That's a red flag for me so I declined the interview. I was promoted to Principal Engineer with a decent increment a couple of years later.

STE based a staff salary based on education level. You can be established in your field as a diploma holder with 10 - 15 years of experience and they can offer a sub-5K salary package.

Yes kind of shock by that.
Even my current HR from Philippines also couldn't understand.
They limit their possibilities just by a piece of paper rather than what that person can deliver.

What's so shocking about?
That's the right way of doing things.
If dip holders can promote faster than Deg holders just because they are more competent
Then who wants to take degree?
