What reason did u give for leaving?

Did u get a new job in a different industry or function? Or related to your past experience?

I find that employers are always looking for candidates with relevant experience (maybe not so for junior/ entry positions), so it's difficult to venture into a different area even if the candidate is keen.
my situation is quite unique, but i told them almost the truth. u have to justify why u left without a job, and in my case, the interviewers do uds, or at least i make them understand. no referral, but i have no issue giving them references.

i grad later than you and started in a rather broad role. i'm not really changing role, but choosing a specialised role which requires many yrs of exp. like i said, improve urself in the meantime. true, many employers prefer ppl with exp, but there are some that are interested in grooming talents too, which is my case. it's really luck. but u must do something to find luck, luck doesnt find you.

another advice is go to events. the field u're interested in. talk to the industry ppl, share with them what u're gg thru and they are in a better position to help u. otherwise, talk to a recruiter.

if u're still lost, and dont mind lower pay to try out diff roles. try a startup. there are many of them and they are always looking for new bloods.

the key is only u can help urself. u want ppl to give u chance, u have to show something tangible. taking online courses shows that u're keen to pursue this particular field and perhaps thriving during adversity. u have to show at least how much u alr know abt this field and if u can see urself working at this role for years. if u can answer this confidently, ur chance of getting an offer will significantly increase.

hope this helps
