It stings. I won’t lie. It’s tough seeing the effort, late nights, and emotional energy not translating into the outcome I was aiming for. It’s hard not to take it personally, even when I know promotions are complex and based on many factors.
But if there’s anything consulting has taught me, it’s to take feedback, pivot, and keep pushing forward.
So, here I am — asking for help. If you’ve been through this before, I’d genuinely appreciate your advice. How did you bounce back? What did you do differently? What helped you grow into the next version of yourself?
To everyone who got promoted this round — I’m genuinely happy for you. Your success is inspiring, and I hope to stand alongside you someday too.
Onward and upward. One step at a time.

My advice being in this exact shoe before is that don't be too hard on yourself. Take some days off to getaway, and come back to revaluate your career stage. All I can say is to take charge of career. It's as simple as overcoming the mindset that you may have to wait it out for another 6 months for the next cycle, which is bs. Take charge in what you can control and influence, always. All the best!
