Hi, the
MOE PDGE webpage states "You will receive a monthly salary of $3,535 to $5,000 while undergoing your Contract Teaching Stint in school and if enrolled, during
NIE training as well." May I know is it possible for a mid-career switcher to have an untrained teacher salary of higher than $5000 and if so, what is the untrained teacher salary cap for mid-career switchers?
For a mid-career switcher drawing 8k with 10 years of tertiary teaching and 10 years of non-teaching experience, what would be a likely starting salary?
In a 2007, it was announced that "the Ministry of Education will enhance the salary and promotion prospects of mid-career teachers from Jan 2008. The enhancements will ensure that their contributions are recognised, in line with those of their peers who joined the teaching profession as their first career. The pay and progression of new mid-career teachers will be adjusted such that they will be able to catch up with their peers by their 4th year as a trained teacher. This is considerably faster than is currently the case. This will be done through higher starting salaries, faster promotions and additional salary increments upon promotion." May I know if this policy is still in place? If so, does "catching up by their 4th year" means after 3 years of trained teacher service or after 4 years of trained teacher service?
May I know the average GEO grade and pay of a non-key personnel teacher who joined
MOE straight after university graduation and stays for 20 years?
Thank you to anyone who can provide some insights from your knowledge!
