This is ridiculous. Teaching experience doesn't mean much in the private sector if someone were to leave the service. Similarly, private sector experience is meaningless when it comes to one's ability to teach. Just because someone was an engineer, lawyer, or whatever it doesn't mean they know how to handle a teenager in the classroom.
