Although you may have certain relevant experience, if the job requires a degree holder, your salary will be computed based on the years of experience after attaining a degree. HR don't really take fully of the no.of. Years when you only hold a diploma. This was the same as my case as well as i also worked for a few years after my diploma then take a degree and change a new agency which i have relevant past experience.
