Do people here feel that the working culture in the public sector is more toxic, and that people tend to be less forgiving to others, compared to the private sector.
It's like every single mistake you make, people are on you relentlessly.
It didn't happen to me, but I had a colleague who missed a reported fracture. Pt was recalled the next day, nothing major happen to her (it was a undisplaced metatarsal fracture), just a delayed referral to Ed for casting by 1 day. (Traced eventual outcome, nothing major happen, seen Ortho 1 week later, placed in aircast boot)
But my boss took umbrage and decided to report my colleague (who is cond reg) to
smc? Now my friend having difficulty getting full reg...
Tbh in my time in ops, I have seen gps outside refer for more dodgy/dangerous things (like chest pain to ops for ecg, best one was a k 6.6, to ops for subsidized gm referral??) But pple outside seem to care less or more forgiving
