It is a fact that some schools receive more resources than others because of their alumni networks, their location (therefore their student profile). Such schools are also better able to provide their own financial aid to less fortunate students, with their own funds. And these schools are also better protected against things like merger

All schools are equal but some schools are more equal than others.
