Inaccurate information leh
The bulk of teachers come from PGDE programme, where they got their degree elsewhere, in other majors. Accountancy, Engineering, Sciences, Linguistics etc.
They can always go back to the field they got their degree in, if they don't mind starting from zero.
Even for those who got their degrees directly from
NIE, they have to major in the subjects that they are teaching.
The education modules come at the expense of General Electives that other degrees have. While other people spend their general modules taking random electives, the
nie ppl don't have much general electives to take.
