Where got so early? Usual practice is to announce within the last week or two of March. The promotions are effective 1st April anyway.

Inaccurate information leh
The bulk of teachers come from PGDE programme, where they got their degree elsewhere, in other majors. Accountancy, Engineering, Sciences, Linguistics etc.
They can always go back to the field they got their degree in, if they don't mind starting from zero.
Even for those who got their degrees directly from NIE, they have to major in the subjects that they are teaching.
The education modules come at the expense of General Electives that other degrees have. While other people spend their general modules taking random electives, the nie ppl don't have much general electives to take.

Have been invited for an “engagement session with senior management” hosted by PS. Anyone knows what this is about? They didn’t give much details in the email except to say it’s a “get to know you, engage you more in MOE policies”. Non scholar here

It is one of those 'tea sessions' that indicate to you that you might have a chance at career progression at a similar pace to that of a scholar.
If you want to climb the ladder, you definitely should attend. Not many people get invited to these, especially non-scholars. Keep your eyes and ears open!

Could anyone share how CEP works in terms of career progression opportunities. Let's say I'm currently a normal teacher but have been getting some advise/hints about my career KP roles. But at the same time I also know that there is very limited KP opportunities in my current school. If I try out for open posting in July, how will I know that the schools that I apply too will provide those opportunities for me to rise? I know that some schools are reluctant to take on someone with no KP experience for a KP opening that they have. They'd rather take in someone with some KP experience.
Am I stuck?

Did you constantly get As and Bs for your performance over the last few years? Are you a GEO3 or GEO4?

For mid-careerers just coming out of NIE: do appeal to get your mid-career pay adjustment if HR didn't auto-give you; i had to chase them for mine.
Those not sure about teaching can try doing some relief tyranny to get a taste first, but remember when doing relief, you don't have to suffer many meetings (that should've been emails), CCAs, committee work, etc, then gauge how much/whether your "passion" can carry you through.

1yr untrained teaching +
1-2yrs NIE PDGE +
2-3yrs (6-figure$$$) bond
= a huge chunk of your working life
esp. those who could go into CS/software development:
think in today's market, those with 4-5yrs dev experience could hit (near) S$10K.
