hi I'm the OP, thanks to the commenters, their responses were very valid!

update for people who might stumble upon this post, no regrets joining this program, my peers are doing fine too! Not everyone is doing data analytics, a few transitioned to other related industries, but many people managed to use these government-tech training programs to get into the industry, and work hard afterwards to move to better companies!

Looking back, its better to start off earlier in uni and learn programming + do internships early, but no shame to those who take the longer route via these govt linked programs. everyone finds their way eventually
