Looks right, was from the same jc. Most of my peers in the late 30s are near that low 5 digit per month pay in various fields, like myself (in the accounting line). But the Engineers who are section/department managers should be in the high 4 digit range or more
But quite a number took the civil service route (teachers, D*star, A*star) non-scholar, pay ranges from 6-9+.
Those in the second group seems to have more work life balance.
All these means very little, contentment is happiness. After you hit the 7-10K level, especially with double income, life should be quite comfortable, so set aside enough time for your family.
