You want status symbol? Buy a Terrace house and a nice car. Condos are as prestigious as 5BR top floor HDBs.... Singaporeans are earning A LOT nowadays. 2m condos mean nothing, 5m terace houses are the new prestige.

I used to live in a terrace house. No big deal. In fact no privacy as strangers can knock on your door selling things. People walk pass your house can see what you’re doing instead. Cars passing by, noisy and you breathe polluted air. The real prestige is GCB, nothing less. Living in condo more prestigious than landed. You can enjoy the facilities and have better privacy and safety.
