From another thread in 2018:
MFA is one of the ministries with the heaviest workload. At peak periods, you can work till midnight for several days or weeks (source: friend who is a Foreign Service Officer).
That said, you have to undergo their gruelling 3-stage interview process.
1st stage - half a day with a large group of ~20 ppl
2nd stage - full day at am assessment centre evaluating aspects such as logical/analytical thinking, how quick you are to think on the spot, presentation skills, writing skills etc.
3rd stage - panel interview with senior management

Not too certain about current starting pay but I think at least 5-6k for FSO
