That a thing i am fear off hence i like to find my career path now. No point to clinch to a golden handcuff if you have no passion or you will not stay for life. |

Good to make a decision and move on. Bear in mind that a person's marketability will decline once you cross a certain age unless you are a hotshot. When I was in my thirties, I had a few job offers and even within the company I worked in, there were various opportunities opened to me. Now that I am above 40, the doors are mostly closed. :-( I am just glad the company still find me valuable to keep. |

Thanks all. I decided to take a risk to move on to the new job, as i believe passion is important too if i want to strike for better future. Tie to a job which no interest cant move me to the next level. |

Just think of your girl, your desired degree and your renovation. I think you need a short vacation to refresh yourself. Is the SHRI degree a good honours degree to study? I hope you are not spending your hard earn money on a degree that is less recognise. |

Simple Hi, The answer to your question is very simple. Reject the new job offer as the pay cut is too much. Stay on your current job, and continue to search for other jobs which you think you have more interest in, without getting such a big pay cut. Secondly, since you said you are interested in HR, you should start studying for some HR certifications. Taking a deep pay cut to go to a job which you THINK MAY lead to a HR role in future, plus you THINK everything will go smoothly including a new, understanding boss with new, collaborative colleagues and work environment, hours etc etc and eventually you'll end up in the HR job which you're so SURE that you'd enjoy (ALL Maybe's, IFs only). Plus you have parents and kid to support. Taking a pay cut is very easy, but getting the increment to go up to the same level again will take years. Stay and look out for other offers. Unless you have a rich partner. |

That said, 40% is a significant drop. So... try looking for a similar opportunity with a smaller pay cut ? |
