In the end, I was told to leave cos of my poor performance. This is a tactic that employers use to make ppl leave so that their reason is valid.

In this way, age discrimination is hidden. Next person take over the job, and I saw after a few months, that person left also. We all around the same age, in our 40s.

You say, age discrimination real or not ? Of course it is real.

Fug the employers !

loveburgersandfries in my view, it is true that jobs are not secure forever - anything can happen anytime. so for me, i prefer to keep learning and upskilling, so i keep my relevance. would encourage you to do so too - you can check out the skillsfuture courses, like those from BCG RISE, poly, uni etc. go for more courses, gain more skills, and have more exposure. so when you are searching for jobs again, at least you demonstrate that you have an edge over other applicants. and thus your chances of securing jobs will be higher.

age discrimination is crazy , its worse in tech lol maybe u blind or what but people will always compare age and if they see a junior who is 5-10 years old than them , they will look down on him / her .

Unregistered Would like to ask advice from seniors. What is the next step after crazy hiring in previous economy cycles ? How did the big retrenchment start ? Any sign that we can detect and prepare ?

Unregistered yeah do food delivery during peak hours. During off peak hours go on jobstreet/careersfuture spam send resumes. If you're local/mid-career you do get slightly preferential treatment. No point stressing over it too much ez game, ez lyfe.
