Gotcha. And thanks for your candour. Much appreciated. I did consider A*star but their current fellowships are for clinician-scientists (this has not always been the case). I am guessing this is because they are pushing for translational medicine for the moment. The only way I would join A*star would be as a lab head, since I currently lead my own lab in Australia and couldn't face being in a post-doc position in SG. I've come to really enjoy the creative flexibility of running my own projects and seeing my work published. |

I'm on tenure track at the moment, so I might just wait to see if prospects are any better with professorship. I realise that Singapore is all about status and the paperwork to prove one's mettle. I did hope that I already had enough to secure a half-decent offer but it sure doesn't sound like it! | |
