I think the audit partners in their 40s and 50s and 60s now realised that as much as they want profits themselves, they need young people, they young blood to go fieldwork to do vouching work. Without young people go field doing vouching, who will do vouching work? Is that salary partner or managing partner or equity partner in his late 40s willing to do fieldwork? Or these folks want to stay in their comfort office to shake leg and do review work? Come on... We all know the blood, sweat, tears of the audit working paper all done by young people associates and seniors. People in 40s to 60s are so afraid that no one is performing the audit fieldwork but they have so much audit client portfolio to do. What the partners can do is increase audit fees and increase salaries to retain people to do vouching. |
