Hi guys, I just join mid-tier audit firm from big4.
I noticed some of the juniors and seniors don't even know how double entry (JE) and FRS116 lease table.
Is that normal?

FPNA is a very broad umbrella. why need to do consol unless you are in group FPNA. Nor does FPNA need you to know the accounting standards at the back of your hand. just good fundamental understanding of accounting concepts and regularly just keeping up with the standards on a high level and you can do a good enough level of budgeting forecasting and management reporting. but of course there are some that require you to be technical. audit is not some hallowed you need to go through to get executive level credentials. it is valuable experience but it’s not necessary to make it. how many cfos nowadays are actually from audit? there is a good number. but definitely not all.

yup. all these stupid comments about malaysians. don’t hate the player hate the game. you choose to stay in the industry where the game master are the partners and they put you in this situation where you need to work with kampong kia. you can either quit game or play it well. if you cannot quit game and forced to play. you are honestly just same level as them. nothing to complain. so capable just leave for a better job instead of complaining here. this forum used to be for legit advice. now just become hate corner

SM1..by now you should know whether you are that hotshot partner material. If you are, nothing can stop you. If you are not, what progression are you talking about?

They prefer people with experience in commercial roles rather than audit. I can’t understand why the reputation of auditors has dropped to a new low. Despite being exposed to more stuff and working longer hours, experience in audit is not seen as valuable by hiring managers. 3 years of audit working hours is equivalent to 5 years in commercial roles.

Hi everyone,
How do I explain to the client that they have to pay a premium price nowadays because fewer members of Gen Z are joining the audit industry? This has resulted in a shortage of manpower. Additionally, Gen Z is demanding significantly higher salaries.
As a result, high audit fees are unavoidable, and there is a need to pay a substantial premium for audit services.
