Can I ask have anyone here do the graduate diploma in family practice dermatology before?
I am invited to apply (registered my interest while back), they are asking for testimonials from department heads??, but I am currently a full time locum.
Was wondering how does that work out for locums?

this forum is not the place to seek consolation
if you're a junior dr ie ho/mo/reg i suggest forgeting what happened and keep going
easier said than done but you're gonna have plenty more of such experiences in the years to come. heck, even as con like me now you're gonna have **** days...

My con tore up my case notes and threw it down the ward window

We all learn.

Today no good. We go to ward earlier tmr to learn
Knowledge deficient, we use weekend to learn

Today you are lousy but if u work hard
After 1 year u will be average.
After 2 years u will be above average

Pls take care, whoever you are.
The practice of medicine can sometimes be overwhelming.
I don’t have terribly unique tips except that it’s a matter of self care
And putting one step agter another day after day.
There be good days and there be bad.
Live each day in day tight components. Don’t let each day bleed into the next in terms of negativity.

QE is just like the nus mbbs.
Do not fret

Many foreign graduates are of the highest caliber
Non inferior to yllsom mbbs grad

Of you not familiar with the curriculum can mug Nigel Fong algorithms in differential diagnosis

Good luck with studying

At one point in my MO life I was getting very burned out and finally came to the conclusion that I didn't want to do the specialty I'd been aiming at since med school. Switched to a completely different specialty altogether and it's made all the difference for me. Much better fit for me in terms of personality, interest, job scope, etc. Not without its challenges, but was definitely the right move for me.

Just mentioning this as I never considered an alternative specialty until I had a talk with a senior I respect/trust about career options and choices and this was a suggestion that came out of that talk.

Now that I'm a bit older I know quite a few people who have changed their choice of specialties/subspecialties or eventually decided not to go down the specialist route, and they generally seem happy with their decision.

Hope things get better for you, sometimes it's just a matter of getting through a bad posting and things might look better once you're in another posting...
