how about malaysian working as MO? i thought they were earning like 7k ish

Malaysian non resident (not pr) is given a $1k hosuing allowance.

So base pay around 4.8-5.1k after 3 yrs plus 1k housing allowance + 3-4 calls ($800). Will still be short of 7k. More like 6.5k.

But 6.5ksgd per mth is very good if not for the expensive sg rental and sg food.

yup the above poster is right. But the Malaysians tend to hentak kaki and find it hard to secure a training post, especially the Malaysian-trained Malaysians, who tend to have poorer command of the English language. The UK / Aus trained Malaysians seem to have a better time of it.

Tbh I find um and ukm grads to be better than Aussie/UK trained Malaysian grads. Um and ukm went in the hard way, fought their way thru stpm, fought their way thru racial quotas. Aussie and UK trained fought their way with dad's money.

I will round off my medical training in the Philippines by next year by God's grace. I intend to move to Singapore for my residency upon finishing my medical clerkship in the Philippines by next year. Please, how can I go about it. Please, kindly advise me.

Hospital Consultant Interviews
 

UK trained Anaesthetic Consultant with an interview with a local Singapore Hospital coming up. I would imagine Consultant interviews to be quite different to the ones over here in the UK. Would anyone have any tips/insights into the Consultant interview process in Singapore? Many thanks.

This is so not true. My advice to all malaysian trained doctors (as a msian trained doc myself), apply for PR as soon as possible. This will greatly increase your chance of getting a training position when competing against other foreigners. While a good command of english is important to impress, more important is a teachable and hardworking, eager to learn and humble attitude.
