Suggest jobs for introverts
Pls suggest jobs for introverts in Singapore. Full-time jobs, not freelance jobs. Many articles on-line are recommending jobs for introverts that are not available in Singapore.
Is there any specific industry or job role that allows someone with tertiary education (degree or diploma) to work alone or independently most of the time, without having to consult or liaise a lot with other parties or be micromanaged by having minute details and decisions examined? Not concerned with career advancement as long as the job and industry is stable with monthly income. I am OK with the occasional meetings (like once a week or 2 weeks) to update the boss or gather requirements from customers or users. I was in an operations job previously dealing and coordinating with multiple stakeholders, professional networking, and meetings daily. I detested it. Thanks. |

You think not meeting to talk with boss or other people means doing nothing? Well, seems like you equate meeting with productivity. Meeting does not mean productivity. Some jobs may not require constant discussion on what to do and how to do them. Some people can meet everyday from 9-to-6 and get nothing decided or done. Like chefs and hawkers they only take your order and get on with the work. They don't spend hours sitting down with you to discuss how to cook the dishes you order. |
Maybe you can be a taxi or uber driver? Be your own boss.
You don't need to have meetings. You work hard, you get paid more. You just meet passengers. You're the boss. |
You can also be a hawker. Be the best hawker and you can sell a lot of dishes.
You can be rich. Why work for others? Work for yourself and build up your business empire. |

And please don't insult chefs. Chefs need a combination of formal education and years of apprenticeships on various parts of the kitchen before they can qualify. Chefs need to lead the sou chefs, cooks, helpers, coordinate with the servers and restaurant manager, source for ingredients actively and also update the restaurant owners. Those on higher end eateries need to get out of the kitchen frequently and interact with the customers. Jeez... what world are you living on? Actually I know what job you can do as a loner, be a security guard (the low end kind) guarding those ulu places at night as a 1-man show. Then you can do the loner thing and minimze working/interacting with someone else. Just don't complain the 1.2k paycheck. |
