That being said, it's not the quantity that determines the success but the quality of the interview yeah?

Followed up with post interview thank you note. HR said I will hear from them approx 2 weeks from now.... A part of me hopes that the reason why my interview is especially long is because the interviewers are interested to hear my opinions and perspectives. I doubt interviewers will purposely drag the interview process if they feel that the candidate has little to contribute to the organisation.

Yes thats about right, usually 2-3 weeks. Good luck!

If the application deadline is not over yet, but I've been for the first interview at a SB, does that mean I've to wait very long before I'm shortlisted for 2nd interview?

Is 2nd interview just a round of interview for the management to confirm the candidate is suitable for the role or it's another round of tough competition with a few other candidates?

It's a week since my interview last week and I'm getting nervous...

Yeah, when they ask us to wait for 2 weeks for news, what does it really mean? Are we being KIV for the time being while waiting for potential prospects to be interviewed, or is this the diplomatic way of hinting that we will receive a rejection letter within the 2 weeks???

Not all stat boards have second round of interview. A*STAR is one of them. Which stat board are you applying to?

Indirectly, it means you are rejected if you do not hear anything from them within 2 weeks.

But if you are rejected, wouldn't they have sent you a rejection letter as a form of notice? The only candidates that will not receive rejection letters are those KIV and those shortlisted for the position. This is already the standard HR procedure for healthcare institutions and they are only semi-privatized. You would assume that govt stat boards are even more proper and formal when it comes to recruitment. Also, I read comments and stories about how HR in some stat boards take a very long time to tell them they are recruited...Now it makes it difficult whether to continue to keep your faith in the position or not...

Usually how would HR notify if they selected someone for the position? Via email or will they personally give a call?

I went for a formal interview 2 weeks ago, followed by an informal session with the senior managers last week. the next day HR called me to ask for pay slip and income tax statement.. is this supposed to mean I stand a good chance? I was also told to wait for 2 weeks for the outcome.
