Range from 0 to 20k

It's alot of networking. If you are an airhead, word gets around. You can forget about your next jump ship.
Regardless you are in broking firm or underwriting firm.

If you're good, Chances are firms will sought after you.

There is more than just being a broker or underwriter. There are demand for Cat model specialist, risk engineering, client service advisors as well as claims experts. Forensics accounting too. All these make up the insurance world. But of cos, you need to learn the basics.

Why not ask the firms - its hiring mgrs and staff - ask them what they do and why they continue doing for so many years. The key is also asking who they deal with.

If you get sick of the role, you may even move to client and be their risk mgr - tekkan both brokers and underwriters.

Yes. Basic is not much difference while you are bonded. Don't really expect much growth during this period. Bonus varies depends on your performance. I have seen as high as 12 months.

After your bond ends, that is when you face your biggest jump. If you're good, you will be approach by headhunters and there are cases where your basic can jump from 4k to 8-10k. I know a few people getting 15-20k basic while just being in the industry for about 5 years.

It really depends on how much effort you wanna put in. If you want to go back home at 6 everyday, then don't expect much. The ones that always complain about their basic being low is usually this same group of people.

Doesn't matter how hard you work lah. If you are pretty, willing to drink and suck up to ang moh, then u can get promoted and go far. Otherwise as a guy work how hard also no use. Insurance is amdk industry.

At the end of the day, its how much value u are bringing to the corp... But dont dream alot during ur bond period and you need to manage your expectation low, dont compare with your peers.
