I would say yes and no. Obviously if you have a lot of "exceeding", bosses probably feel you are punching above your own weight and chances you will get a B vs C may be higher. However, this is against the backdrop of a bell curve, i.e. if your entire team is also high performing, then your chances of getting a B is equalised.

28M, NS, FCH, farmer, in a ministry. Got B in first year and (hopefully I don't jinx it) based on my chat with my RO and Director, I sense another B in my second year.
Posting to another policy team now, but what's different now compared to before is that there are scholars. I don't foresee any work life balance.
Still, is it worth it to keep farming and try to hit MX11 by my 3rd year in service? Honestly I'm so burned out. I guess I could (a) wing it out, try to hit MX11 before moving to another ministry/SB given the **** economy/labor market prospects; or (b) toughen it up and try to pivot to private now (lolz, with my arts degree).
