Anyone know if Civil Service will be giving 13th month this year? Heard that 13th month is not compulsory under the contract

Mac
Any idea on MAC payout for engineers in August?

It is not compulsory, but skipping that might have huge repercussion... I don't think govt has ever skipped that... and it will send a very strong signal for the private entities to follow suit.

If your contact says you’ll be paid, then you would and should get it. If not just take it as a donation, we are lucky that there’s no pay cut yet |
I agree with this. I have not read in details whether 13th month is a fixed component or an option. Either way, I believe there are ways to adjust it when the need arises.
At this point in time, my guess is that we will still be paid the 13th month salary. Quote:

any chances that there will be pay cut for civil service in view of Covid-19 situation?

i would say unlikely coz govt want people to spend $$ futher paycut erodes consumer confidence affected more shop close, more retrenchments. then a downward spiral |

Right now, they are promoting inward spending to keep whatever economy going. But I am expecting CPF cut at the employer side. That is why the NWC is meeting up soon. |
