Not so soon. The average retrenchment age for IT jobs is 35. Some can even last until 40 (although quite rare). It's a profession for young people, very similar to another profession.

If able to get into management, then can last another 10 years, up to about 50 years old, but not too old else scare away customers.

Just work what u love...I don think there is any career that is shorter then police officer in singapore. If u r smart and capable, there no way u cannot find a job or another job.

Nothin wrong with police officer job. Infact if u r in Crime investigation dept, i think it quite exiciting. However not everyone suit this type of jobscope. What i heard is police officer retired quite an early age. If u r thinking about long term...it a problem after u retired.
