Passive income ideas?

What are some good ideas to generate passive income. I think passive income is one of the best ways to retire young and live a good life as you don't have to work long hours.

So far, I can only think of investing in property as passive income. Are there any other ways?

REITS and high-dividend yield stocks.

How much do you have currently? Also how much do you expect to save for investment every year? What sort of return are you looking for every year?

You need to give everyone a rough idea of your financial situation as not everything is suitable or available to everyone.

I do believe what dropshipping is a nice way to generate a passive income - find a niche, setup a store and hire some virtual assistant to maintain it.
But my ultimate goal is diversified passive income streams (blog, online store, stock market, etc)

What you suggested above are not passive incomes. They are side incomes which require a fair amount of effort.

Passive incomes are those incomes where you only put in initial effort like long term stock investment where you get regular dividend income. Or rental income from property - initial effort to get tenant, sit back for 1 to 2 years and receive rental income. Then get new tenant. This part of the work, pay an agent to do it.

Another way is to earn income through royalty from book sales. But you have to first write a good book that people want to buy and read.

I have been investing for passive incomes from the very first day I started work.

After 33 long years of nurturing and building up my investment for passive income, I have seen my passive income steadily rising from $20K 13 years ago to $165K of passive income for 2017. It has not been easy but it is not impossible either.

Not bad, I am 37 yo and only getting 50k from dividends this year. Hope to reach your level by 50 yo.

Size matters

When it comes to investing for passive income, the size of your investing capital matters - a lot!

Simple maths will tell you:

Passive Income_____ROI____Investment Capital required
$50k_____________5%_____$1,000,000
$100K____________5%_____$2,000,000

$50k_____________4%_____$1,250,000
$100k____________4%_____$2,500,000

$50k_____________3%_____$1,670,000
$100k____________3%_____$3,340,000

For us as we are approaching retirement, we started to move towards less risky investments which unfortunately comes with lower ROIs. Quite a big proportion of our investment capital are in low yield but very safe investment instruments such as AAA bonds, CPF and SSB. While those sums that were already invested in the stock market are still kept there to generate dividend income.

Even with this mix, we were able to achieve $165k in passive income, which enables us to save 100% of our salary.

Unless one is born into a wealthy family, building up a sizeable investment capital takes time (decades) and discipline. A strong will power to resist lifestyle inflation when your salary increases and when your passive income grows! It has been a 33 year journey for us thus far.

A lot of discipline, sacrifices, yes, but also a lot of satisfaction when you see target after target being achieved.

We do reward ourselves once in a while, for example when our passive income hits $40k, we treated ourselves to a long enjoyable holiday to the US. When the passive income hit $120k, we bought ourselves a new car with it. Felt very good that we didnt have to "work" for that car!

But mostly, we reinvested our passive income to allow the magic of compounding to work.

Haha yar we did the same thing as well. Decided to do a big renovation of our house when our passive income hit $150k, feels good that it is "free"!

Benefits of passive income

Having passive income, especially if you have several streams of income source, is like having a team of virtual workers working for you. We have four streams of passive income source - dividends from shares, interest from bonds & FDs, rental income and interests from our CPF OA & SA.

You get to enjoy multiple "pay" days in a month and not just once a month from your job! Minimally, we would get four pay days in our "slowest" month comprising dividends, rental and our own salaries. The busiest pay-days for us are in May and August where companies gave out their final and interim dividends respectively. In those months, we could see money coming in "left, right and centre". Almost every three days we would get dividends credited into our account during those months.

When you reached FI, as we did 3 years ago, you practically save your whole annual salary. You will see your networth grow exponentially!

Spending money (passive income) that you dont have to personally sweat for it is one of the best feelings in the world.

With FI, working becomes optional. You can choose the kind of work you want to spend time on. Or you can continue your current work, as we did, and not stressed about competing for promotion or bonuses. Ironically, as we are now enjoying our work, we are performing better and getting better bonuses.

The list of benefits of passive incomes goes on..

Happy for you. Mind sharing what shares you buy?

Anyway it is great but then again need to have the financial foundation to invest and extra house to rent out to start enjoying all these.

If you are looking to buy US Stocks / Currencies / Commodities / Cryptos. Try this site, 0% commission trade, and you can buy small-lots etc ($250). Best of all, it's super user friendly.

I always like to keep reading these inspirational stories. They really motivate me to search for new ways of making money online.

What really inspired me was the work of this young man s://652a5ognlo2dnr4fcgb03k1n1h.hop.clickbank.net/?cbpage=article. Hope this can help all of you guys, it was enlightening and totally worth it. Thanks to him and his Webinar I can say I found my perfect passive income strategy, which I have been searching for almost 8 years. Hope I can spread the word with this and help more people with no financial resources like me build a profitable online business directly from the comfort of your own bed.

This is a great idea 'cause with the time you can a small business into a big one and you will not need to work for someone but only for you and your family. I can help you with the name of the company, I used a brand name generator for my these at university. We have had to prepare a business plan for a company and I needed a brand name. I guess that you can use it too. It is very easy, you just write the keywords and this is, you have a brand name.

Thnak God someone thought to do such a generator, I see that it is free, thanks for sharing this

Of course, you need a based knowledge, you have to know how to start everything. The other things you can learn on the spot. I know that this is incorrect but it's true. We have a lot of opportunities now to start a business you just need to want it. You know, recently I found this themoneymix.com blog and there are some passive income ideas. Of course, you need some little investments but it is nice that you can develop it very nicely. I'm thinking about investing some money in a small laundry. As I read there people make real money there so here is my chance.

There's a lot of charity organisations around and so many people need help in this crisis.

Please spare some thought and contribute to charity instead of flaunting here.

From that points you can get money. To be honest, it sounds like a pyramid for me. Also I've read a review about [URL="s://linkw88moinhat.com/"]W88[/, the best idea in my opinion is to create your own platform which will generate income, everything depends on the promotion and traffic.

Very good idea, I think you're totally right.

I created a website (pyinvesting.com) that provides a valuable service to people and helps DIY investors to backtest their investment strategy. It's similar to running a business where there is cost involved such as paying for servers and data and revenue from users of the website.
