Hi, may I know what's the timeline like after application? I applied CSDP on 23 March 2024 and no response yet. Thank you!

There is no fixed timeline for public service. One might expect that if they are keen they will reply sooner rather than later, say within the usual 2 weeks. But you will be surprised, from personal experience it can take anytime between 1-3 months to hear anything after application. There might be many reasons for this including scheduling issues for interviewers, you are not the first choice so they only got down to looking at your cv after others rejected. I say don’t pin your hopes here and actively apply elsewhere. If it’s yours it’s yours, the reverse also true. All the best in your job search!

I've been actively looking for opportunities to get into cyber and have been actively applying to such programmes too but recently got rejected at the interview stage from one of the programmes, so was wondering how long it'd take for CSDP to get back/or not get back to safely assume my application got rejected.

May I ask, if you'd have any advice for someone who wants to get into cyber with a background of one year tech traineeship (non-related to cyber)? Thank you.

Do you mean that you are fresh from school with no work experience except one year of tech internship? Not sure what you mean by traineeship.

I don’t really have any advice other than to do what most other people would do regardless of industry. Which is apply both public and private, see which fits your qualifications. Try LinkedIn or MyCareersFuture if you want ballpark of salary. Tech/cyber quite competitive obviously, so you should assess whether you have the qualifications they are looking for. If not maybe check out those fintech startups which are smaller outfits to see if they are willing to take you on for some experience.

And you don’t really have to wait for a reply, you can apply concurrently. If not you would have wasted your time and potential opportunities should CSA not be interested to progress with your application.
