It depend on the effort you put in. I got a friend who change from swe to cyber security done a few cyber cert 6 month before he switch.... Aws, cissp and oscp... He was promoted to senior after probation

Don’t join CSA if u want to learn more

As simple as what the title says, don’t join if you want to tackle tough problems and level up. The work they do are not challenging enough to learn more.

Unregistered 18-05-2022 08:05 PM

sounds like a unsatisfied csdp

Tackling cybersecurity issues at the national level in itself is already very challenging. Don't think of only doing technical then you call challenging.

What question do they ask during your interview? Is it difficult? Are there technical questions?

Ok for a 23/24 year old fresh grad. But if experienced hire then definitely cannot

if you are experience hire, you wouldnt even consider csdp. its meant to covert freshies and ppl with no cyber exp.

I think the intention is good to convert people with no cyber experience. They wouldn't hire people with cyber experience for CSDP.

Just got an confirmed offer from HR. Will be accepting it and take it as a stepping stone into the industry. Anyone else joining the July batch?

Hello, when did you have your final interview?

Unregistered 24-05-2022 07:24 PM

My senior was part of CSDP. He got a big tech company after the programme.

I know people from within the programme and the reasoning are mostly.
1. pay. Everywhere is starting to pay more and CSA pay is becoming less competitive
2. the work. There is a lot of work in CSA that is not cyber related. So you spend a lot of time doing work that does not teach you much
3. the CSDP itself. The training part i heard is okay. But you either do not get to do real work or are just "training" for the next year and a half, while your peers outside are all gaining real life experience.

Seems like its a good idea in concept but not good execution

Unregistered 25-05-2022 07:31 PM

its a cheap source of labour for ground work, that they dun have to pay market rate to attract people in.

Can share where else pays better for non cyber train people who wants to get into the field? I am thinking of getting in the field first and frm the comments above it seems possible.
