Agree with the poster above. If you are a fresh PhD with no post-doc experience, you may even have trouble finding a teaching position in university (NTU and NUS). Most of them requires you to have post-doc experience. But then again, this depend on which field of Science you specialise in.

Last i heard, fresh Assistant Prof ranges around 9k. But the faculty will work you to your bones, requesting for publications once every 2 - 3 years plus teaching requirements. And you need to constantly apply for external grants to keep your research going on.
