You can consider transferring your
HDB to one name, and use the other name to buy an investment property, hence avoiding the ABSD.
Even though
HDB requires a reason like "change in family structure" etc, my wife and I didn't face any issue doing the transfer.
Some property agents and bank loan RMs are pretty knowledgeable about this. Ask them.
For peace of mind, you may also engage a lawyer to craft an agreement on the ownership / sharing of the properties.
However, note also that the ABSD may be scrapped pretty soon, so your efforts in doing the transfer may go to waste.
