And raised with an belief that they are entitled to better lives than Indians, Chinese, Philipinos, Banglas, etc. So, seeing a westerner doing well comes natural to them, but seeing another asian doing well or ok frustrates them. Life is not fair. A lot of incompetent people earn a lot and a lot of deserving ones dont. Its not just about FT, its also about the hierarchical mentality people are born with. Westerners are paid more for the same work.
