I laughed when I read this. Rather immature comments. Not all who retired early are poor and lazy. There are many who retired early because they can. These people were high flyers who made their fortune early in their careers.
These are typically the ex-investment bankers, definitely not those who work as the typical engineers and accountants all their lives. They retire in their big penthouse condos or bungalows and spend their retirement growing their wealth through investments. They no longer need to be salaried workers. They no longer need to commute to work early in the morning, stuck in traffic jams as they work in the comfort of their home or while they relax at a beach resort. They are busy growing their passive income and wealth. And busy collecting the latest sport car models!

The wealthy and hardworking folks know all too well that the best way to help these laid back and lazy people is to tell them now the danger of retiring prematurely without proper financial planning and preparation.
The government recognizes this too! First it was just CPF. Then they created CPF retirement account to hold some money back from people who reached 55. This was because they saw many retirees squandering their CPF monies very quickly. Now they created yet another safety net - the CPF annuity life to further regulate the payout which starts only at age 65.
The danger is very real yet people are seemingly unaware of this danger.
Anyway, it is their life.
