Being in the system for more than 6 years, I offer a break down to the above 5-7 months bonus (using 2013 as an example):

Mid-yr bonus: 0.4 month (for all civil servants)

That sums up to 2.5 month so far.

As for PB, it depends on your performance grade. An average performer usually gets about 1.5 - 2months.

A good performer can be getting from 2 - 2.75months (or more).. but I havent gotta that much.

Hence, putting all the market adjustment bonus apart, bonus is only about 4 - 5.25mths.. 5-7 months a bit too high.

As for the working environment, it really depends on you and your hiring organisation. Slack? Really depends. In my first and second posting (ground units), my average leave office timing is around 8-9pm. In such location, there are rarely anyone who could share your work load (which position was created with the responsibilities stated up front), and you are the only one who have been tasked to complete the work.

In my current position, i leave office on the dot.
