You can have both. That is, invest the 200k for dividend, and get a job. Investing in stocks is not without risks, but it is better than keeping the money in cash. There are Reits that pay out dividends of more than 6% yearly. So that's 12k per year for 200k investment. This will help tide you over until you get that next job.
