I know someone mentioned about wage difference being small. But there are two upsides to accepting SH role. First of all, SH/ST has less teaching hours, and from SH it’s easier to go ST (no need to sit in SMC). Nowadays seems more common for ST to come from SH than HOT.
Second upside is if you eventually move to tutoring or open your own centre, then being a former SH lends even more credibility. |
From what I heard, STs do not have reduced teaching load. They will still have the full load, adding on to being mentors and lead T&L workshops. Otherwise it is hard to justify the subgrade/appointment responsibilities.
