5% shows how much sincerity they have.
Is the uncertainty in the new company worth it? Politics, colleagues, admin, etc... all play a part.
You've been cautious about 15%. Being poached means you can ask upwards of 30%, otherwise, you are just one of the guys, making up numbers and likely there to cover backlogs too...
