Why not? If u stay until Jan, school has no head counts to get a replacement only after u leave. But if you leave in December, school has whole December to look out for a replacement. From staffing planning’s point of view, it’s better to let u go earlier than later.

Spoke to my SLs and called
MOE hotline. If you want the year end bonus and connect plan, it must be at least 31 Dec. If you want that month's salary, it must be until the last day of that month.
