'partner' (and 'director') bear a specific meaning in the Legal Profession Act (and subsidiary legislation), all of which connote a pre-requisite that one is a qualified legal practitioner.
There's a reason why LawSoc requires anyone who is to be designated as 'partner' to first complete the Legal Practice Management Course, even if the person is merely a salaried (non-equity) partner.
My point about the quality of junior lawyers' lack critical thinking nowadays, still stands.
