Well, it all depends on your life priorities. And you really have to make a choice because there's no such thing as a win-win career situation. If your priority is to earn more than everybody else that you know, then you might need to sacrifice your personal feelings/endeavors. On the contrary, if your priority is to have a satisfying/balanced career and life, then you might need to settle for a low-paying job.
