Why did u think is impossible ? In the audit, Compliance and risk space, local banks are paid as well or higher than foreign banks. My peers in US and European banks arnd my age are earning lesser than me in total compensation as they did not get 20-30% increment in 2 years and their bonus range from 1-2 months.
UOB is 3-6 months for average performance cost centre.
I feel that if u are looking at elite roles such as IB, Trader, Economist, PB, the reputable tier 1 banks pay much higher than local banks. But if u are talking about support function like tax, finance, tech, operations, marketing, audit, compliance. U are extremely ill-informed, local banks are super generous with bonus and as u u nego a high base when u joined them, I dun think u will lose out to peers same age group same role in top banks.
